The care of God

How wonderful it is to know that God has designed us for success and to remind us daily of how loved and desired we are by Him. I love the verse that says, "If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7:11). Our Father cares for us deeply and has already given us everything we need.

I cherish how God often focuses on the little details to reveal His greatness and to demonstrate His care for us. I remember a time shortly after we got married and were living in an apartment. I couldn’t drive and didn’t have a car, so I considered walking to Walmart. It was freezing that day, and I had an overwhelming craving for chocolate cookies. But I had no flour or chocolate at home, and Josh wouldn’t be back until 5 PM.

I thought to myself, “God, I really want a chocolate cookie,” but then I forgot about it. About 30 minutes later, I heard the doorbell ring. It was an Amazon package. Usually, when we ordered something online, we had it delivered to my mother-in-law’s house. I called Josh, and he said he hadn’t ordered anything. I opened the box, and to my surprise, there were two packages of chocolate cookies that a friend who had moved to another state had sent to our home.

It was incredible! I ate them while crying, overwhelmed by the greatness of our God. Moments like this show me how much He loves us and wants to see us happy.

I encourage you today to start looking for those little details in your day where you’ve been surprised by our Father’s goodness. Begin to be grateful for the things He has done. You might say, “But Lorena, nothing special is happening in my life,” and I would respond, “Go to God and ask Him to show you how great and loving He truly is.”

Every day, I experience the goodness and love of God in my life, and I want you to begin experiencing the same.

"Father, thank You for Your love, faithfulness, and goodness in my life. I pray that with each passing day, I will have more revelation of Your great love for me and Your sweet plans and purposes for my life. I know You are a good Father, and I also know that You meet all my needs. In You, I have everything I need to live a good and fulfilling life. Thank You for everything You are and for all that You have done in my life. Amen.
