The Seed, the Bread, and the Faith That Acts

I love the Lord, and one of the things that amazes me the most is how He teaches us to live by faith in every area of our lives. Scripture says that God gives us seed and bread, seed to sow and bread to eat. But often, without realizing it, we eat the bread and also the seed, and then we wait for a harvest that can never come. There is no harvest from what was never planted.

Today I want to encourage you to sow.

Ask the Lord for wisdom to discern what is bread and what is seed. Bread is for your nourishment today, for your strength, your sustenance, your daily needs. Seed is what must be planted, what you give, invest, and release in faith. And the most beautiful part of this verse is that God gives you both. He provides for your now and for your later. He sustains your present and prepares your future.

Scripture says:

2 Corinthians 9:10 (NIV):“Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.”

And at the end of this verse, we see a powerful promise: a harvest. There is only harvest where seed has been planted. So begin to plant. Plant into the lives of others. Be generous. Experience the abundant harvest the Lord promises.

But here is something important: action is the final proof of faith. The Bible says that faith without works is dead. If you declare that your needs are met, then walk as someone whose needs are met. Your confidence must be unshakable.

Your natural mind will say things like:

“You’re going to lack.”

“You won’t have enough to pay this bill.”

“You don’t even have enough for yourself, how can you sow a seed?”

But your spirit, strong in the Word and rooted in who God created you to be, says:

He gave me seed, and I will sow.

He gave me bread, and I will not lack anything.”

He supplies all my needs because He is my Good Shepherd” (Psalm 23).

Act on the Word.

Believe the Word.

And you will see the results of the Word manifested in your life.

Circumstances, daily pressures, bank balances, and worries all try to limit our seed.

Everything around us pushes us to live only by what is natural. But we are not only natural beings, we are spirit, born of the Spirit, led by the Spirit. That’s why our eyes must stay on what is eternal and unseen. In that place, nothing is lacking. In that place, God supplies abundantly.

Maybe what you need right now is simply to plant a good seed, so that what feels stuck can be unlocked and what seems immovable can begin to shift.

You may say:

“But Lorena, look at my account. Look at my bills, my salary, my balance.”

And I say: welcome to the club. You are not the only one facing this.

What will set us apart in the future is the result. Some allow circumstances to defeat them. Others, full of faith, put pressure on the pressure and choose to produce something greater in the middle of the struggle.

Don’t stare at the mountain. Look beyond it. That’s where your victory is. The mountain is only the obstacle; the promise is on the other side.

So today, I encourage you to sow, especially when things feel tight, when the natural says “there’s nothing left,” when it makes no sense.

Because the language of Heaven is generosity, abundance, and overflow.
