In July 2025, we set out for the state of São Paulo with a team of fifteen people, with our hearts full of expectation. Our missions to always to to bless others, but as always happens when we step out for the Gospel, we found ourselves just as blessed—if not more.
Serving Side by Side with the Church
Our days in São Paulo were full from beginning to end. We partnered with Verbo da Vida Vila Matilde and Verbo da Vida Pirituba, as well as other local organizations. From the day we arrived, we hit the ground running. On the first Sunday, our team members preached and served in eight different churches. While many preached to the adults, we had several leading the children’s ministry and supporting services throughout the week. The joy and hunger we saw in those congregations reminded us why we go: to encourage, to equip, and to see the body of Christ strengthened.
A Heart for the City
One of the highlights of the trip was a conference on evangelism and missions, where believers gathered to be stirred and instructed on how to do evangelism and then were sent out with greater boldness. Ministry shouldn't stay inside the church walls. Along with street evangelism, we provided breakfast and the Gospel with people experiencing homelessness. We visited homes to pray with families and speak about God’s love. We stepped into the subway and struck up conversations with commuters, planting seeds of truth and hope in their hearts.
One of the most unforgettable moments came when we visited a house that houses children battling cancer. These precious children come from all over Brazil to São Paulo for treatment, and the house becomes their safe refuge during that season. Looking into their eyes, speaking words of life, and praying over them was something none of us will ever forget. It wasn’t just ministry, it was love in action. The very heart of God for His little ones.
Reaching the Margins
We also spent a day in Vila Maria, a favela (poor community within Brazil) where a social project has been faithfully serving the community. From morning to evening, we walked the narrow streets, played with children, shared meals, and prayed with families. The Gospel felt alive there. We experienced God in the laughter of the children, in the tears of those who received prayer, and in the simple conversations where hope broke through despair.
Another day took us to a rehabilitation center filled with men and women who had been bound by addiction. As we worshiped and prayed together, you could sense the presence of God filling the room. For many, it was the first time in a long time that they felt seen, valued, and deeply loved.
More Than a Trip
By the end of our time in São Paulo, our team was tired in body but overflowing in spirit. We had seen God move in ways that only He can. Hearts were healed, destinies redirected, and seeds planted that we believe will bear fruit for years to come.
We left Brazil grateful. Grateful for every smile, every tear, every handshake, every hug. Grateful for the churches and organizations that welcomed us with open arms. Grateful to be a part of what God is doing in that city.
We went to give, but we returned with our hearts overflowing. São Paulo 2025 was more than a mission trip, it was a reminder that when we step out in obedience, the Kingdom of God advances, and lives are forever changed.

This was an amazing mission trip! So many lives touched by the love of Jesus. Whether our team was all together ministering or separated into groups to reach more, the outcome remained constant. Everyone was blessed! Josh and Lorena worked hard to put this trip together, the team responded and God showed up for us all!
